Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why do we guarantee successful learning in our publicity?

Because we closely monitor student performance in our classes and implement the best didactic strategies to get the best and fastest learning results and quickly adapt to the needs of the student.

How can you enroll in classes

The student pays only for the first individual class in which student and teacher get acquainted. We know that each person is unique and that it is necessary to adopt the learning strategies best suited to each student.

If the student is not a beginner, then the first class can be used to evaluate his level and communicative competence in Spanish

If the first class is satisfactory, the student can enroll for a month of class or the course that corresponds to his/level.

Is there a diagnostic exam?

If your experience with Spanish warrants, we administer a diagnostic exam to determine your level.

Are the classes recorded?

The classes are recorded only for the sake of supervision and are erased after two months. That’s how we keep track of each student’s progress and performance. We send students a report after every 20 hours of class or sooner if required.

How long does each class last?

The classes are 45 minutes long for children younger than 12 years old and 60 minutes for teenagers and adults. This duration is ideal to maintain students’ attention and to obtain maximum benefit from the class.

How many levels are there?

Presently, most schools follow the Common European Framework of Reference created by specialists of the European Union that establishes 6 levels:

Level Description
A1 Basic user Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
A2 Basic user Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
B1 Independent user Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2 Independent user Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
C1 Proficient user Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
C2 Proficient user Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.

How much time is required for each level?

The length of the level depends on the frequency with which the class meets, the student's age, the student’s participation and the time devoted to study.

How can one find out one’s language level?

Before enrolling in our courses, one can ask for a diagnostic exam to determine his/her level.

How much time is needed for personal study and homework?

Besides weekly lessons, it is recommended that students do 10 to 15 minutes of homework for each hour of class to get the maximum benefit from the program.

What if, after several classes, I decide not to continue?

It’s hardly likely this would happen, since you will certainly be satisfied with our services, but if for some reason you should decide no to continue, all you need to do is give written notice explaining why you don’t wish to continue and Singularis will refund your money for the classes not taken as long as we are notified 72 hours in advance.

If for any reason you want to change professors, that is also possible. Our professors are excellent but they may not be to everyone’s personal tastes.

Is the privacy of the data of our clients guaranteed?

Grupo Singularis does not share its client data with anyone. The personal data that we ask for will be for internal use only. For more about this consult our Privacy Notice.

How do I pay for the courses?

Payment is made by international bank transfer to the Singularis Group bank account.
